A candle with a long rejection wick on one side and a small body on the other end. The wick points at the price that was rejected; the trade goes the other way.
How to identify it
- Wick at least two-thirds of the total range
- Body sits at the opposite end from the wick
- Wick pokes beyond a level or nearby candles
Entry
Trade away from the wick on a break of the pin bar nose.
Stop loss
Beyond the tip of the wick.
Target
The next opposing level or a 2R move.
Invalidation
Price trades through the tip of the wick.
